Several months ago the United States announced the reopening of the U.S. embassy in Havana. The U.S. embassy was closed 53 years ago when President Kennedy ordered the U.S. embargo. Just days before, the president who was an avid cigar lover, sent his press secretary Pierre Salinger to find at least 1,000 Cuban cigars and gave him only a couple of hours to accomplish the task before they would become contraband.
