Bauza is a long-running Arturo Fuente-made line with roots in an older Cuban name that Carlos Fuente Sr. held in special regard. Produced in the Dominican Republic and marketed through Mike's Cigars, the collection is built around an Ecuador wrapper over Dominican tobaccos, giving the line a profile that has long been associated with spice, wood, coffee, and a measured natural sweetness rather than sheer strength.

What sets Bauza apart is the way it combines Fuente craftsmanship with a classic, traditional style. Bauza Pyramid

Found a gem

While going through my cigar cabinet this afternoon I found an opened box of Bauza cigars with19 perfectly aged Pyramid cigars. Although I can't put an exact date of the manufacture of these cigars, my best guess is I bought them in the early 2000s... perhaps in 2003 to 2005.

I'll fire one up fairly soon and write up a review of a Bauza Pyramid with 20+ years of age on it.

Bauza Jaguar

A hidden gem.

The Bauza Jaguar has been in my humidor since 2007 when I first smoked them. This format more than any other showcases the beautiful and very aromatic wrapper leaf. Medium in body the cigar comes into its own after the first inch and delivers a progressively more complex aroma-taste profile.

A very good Dominican cigar

This box of Bauza lonsdale cigars was just perfect. The construction was spot on and the cigar delivered a semi sweet dark chocolate/coffee flavor the entire length of the cigar. I really would love to try these in a lancero format...if the company would produce them.
