Vonn, the two-time overall World Cup champion, has come into the Vancouver Games with big hopes of dominating the speed events of the downhill and super-G as well as the super-combined. Start with Rocky Patel Vintage 1990 Robusto (5½ x 50). This is a powerful but gentle smoke, with delicate notes of spicy nugget. This cigar is complex and superb, though expensive and hard to find.

It is followed by a cigar lover’s favorite, the Perdomo Squared Robusto (5x50), solid and consistent, high-octane, flavorful and oily with notes of spicy cedar and ground java beans. The Perdomo Squared is becoming the Top Dog for many cigar connoisseurs.

Next is CAO Brazilia Gol (5x56). Featuring a dark and silky exotic wrapper, the Gol is complex and full of Brazilian aromatic flavors of chocolate and oven cured coffee beans. Powerful and oily, it burns slow and sweet.

The next pick is Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real Robusto (5 x52), with creamy hints of Cafe ‘con leche’ on the palate, it burns slow and sweet with rich.

Last but not least, the Licenciados Wavell (5x50), solid, slow burn and great nutty flavors. What else does a man need?
