Remembering Steinbrenner Sampler

We lost one of the good ones this week. George Steinbrenner, the cantankerous, hard headed owner, and avid cigar smoker passed away this Tuesday. Mike always enjoyed those lively public arguments Mr. Steinbrenner used to have with Billy Martin. As well as enjoying a nice cigar as he would watch the NY Yankees on a lazy summer afternoon. We dedicate this sampler as a tribute for the largest man in baseball.

Starting with a Partagas Gigante, (6 x 60) – the cigar that knew Cuba when. The secret of the Partagas Gigante lies in its wrapper leaves. Grown in Cameroon, the Central West African country where the steaming, sub-tropical climate unique to the fourth parallel is ideal for growing superb wrapper leaves. Cameroon wrappers have no equals for rich flavor and the Gigante with its huge dimensions provides big flavors.

Next cigar is the renowned Camacho Legendario Toro (6 x 52) The Legendario was made in very limited quantity in numbered 100 count chests and cannot be found in stores. It is a very special cigar, 100% Honduran rich tobacco with smoky flavors and a hint of Almond brittle. Each one of these Torpedoes was carefully checked to include all the blend elements which make for a real super-smoke.

The third cigar is the TTT Trinidad Limited Edition Toro (6 x 54) with a rare and very limited edition of cigars of extraordinary blend and character. Masterfully crafted by the world's most talented artisans at the renowned Tabacalera de García factory in the Dominican Republic. Each cigar is evolved to perfection with impeccable construction from hand-selected, flawlessly aged tobaccos of uncommon heritage, including a superb San Andrés Corojo wrapper surrounding the richest Connecticut Broadleaf binder and ultra premium Nicaraguan and Dominican filler tobaccos. The result is an unmistakably individual blend of unique flavors seamlessly woven into a smoke of elegant, complex sensations.

Cigar number four is the venerable Rocky Patel – Sun Grown Fuerte Gigante (6 x 58). This Super-power Fuerte is made with especially long aged, hand selected leaves from the finest of the premiums to achieve complex flavors and a smooth smoke. It is a high octane smoke rich with flavorful aroma.

Last but not least is H. Upmann Vintage Toro (6 x 54). Hand made with an exquisite blend of aged Nicaraguan Tobaccos perfectly blended to give you a full body smoke that maintains its complexity, full flavors and aroma from beginning to end. It is dressed with a silky chocolate brown Habano wrapper that gives your palate a nutty flavor with hints of leather and sweet cocoa.
