Perfect Torpedo Sampler

Mike's consider the Vintage 1992 Torpedo (6 1/4 x 52) to be the best cigar made by Rocky Patel. Any cigar aficionado will tell you that when Rocky blends a cigar, it tends to lean towards the sophisticated palate. It's really not for the novice. His blends are rather complex, like a great Cabernet wine, he reaches for a combination of balance and complexity.

Mike selected the Tempus by Alec Bradley Imperator (6 x 52) as the next in line. This brand new cigar brand by Alec Bradley is rich in flavor and smooth in character. It is made from a combination of Honduran Criollo 1998 wrapper blended with Corojo and Criollo filler from the Trojes region of Honduras, just north of the Nicaraguan border.

Gispert Belicoso (6 1/8 x 52) is his third pick. The tasty Gispert will delight even the seasoned and demanding cigar connoisseur. Once a vintage Cuban brand, it is hand made today by Altadis in Honduras. Gispert cigars are crafted with a unique blend of Honduran and Nicaraguan grown long filler tobaccos, a Honduran binder and a rich golden Ecuadorian Connecticut shade wrapper for the Natural cigars, and a specially grown San Andres Morron dark shade for the Maduro. It is a medium bodied cigar with sweet notes of cocoa and spiced wood, slow burn and long finish.

Cigar number four is 898 Collection Belicoso (6 1/4 x 52). Super-Premium in a class by itself, the 898 Collection is an awesome cigar with a medium body but, so flavorful. With rich notes of French Vanilla Chocolate and a dash of honey nut, each 898 Collection cigar provides a spectacular smoking experience.

Mike chose to end this selection with Arturo Fuente Bauza Pyramid (5 1/2 x 55). This cigar combines power and smoothness in a way only Fuente could make. With notes of Double Espresso and Brown Hazelnuts, the Bauza is a slow burn perfect construction cigar.
