Partagas vs Alec Bradley Cigar Sampler

Partagas cigar was created back in 1845 by Jaime Partagas in Havana Cuba. Almost 200 years later, it is still one of the best known and best-loved cigar brands anywhere. In the United States, it was first offered in 1974 when General Cigar acquired the brand from Ramon Cifuentes – whose family owned it in Cuba before the revolution. The Partagas factory in Santiago D.R. makes the cigars under the watchful eye of Benji Menendez, the original owner of Montecristo-H.Upmann factory in Cuba. With Silky Cameroon wrapper and toasty aroma Partagas is Mike’s favorite cigar and today we paired 2 great Partagas cigars against 2 of Alec Bradley’s best.

Partagas Naturales (5 3/4 x 50) This is a medium-to-full in body and featuring a Cameroon wrapper, it greets you with a rich, deep caramelized taste with bright highlights that earns your admiration right away. There’s a toasty aroma which has a hint of spice and the cigar has a medium finish that is fluid and easy.

Alec Bradley Black Market Torpedo (6 1/4 x 54) This complex, premium maduro of Alec Bradley showcases tobaccos leaves from 4 countries. The Black Market is a medium-body luxury cigar sports a silky Nicaraguan Jalapa wrapper cured to a dark oily shine, with a Sumatra binder and Honduran Jamastran Blend. The tobaccos have been aged for years achieving the perfect balance and smooth character we got to expect of any Alec Bradley cigar.

Partagas Robusto (4 1/2 x 49) The Partagas Robusto had a nice easy draw, and was very well constructed. The cigar held a long ash, burned evenly, and did not go out at all during the tasting. It’s a pleasure to smoke, as well as a relaxing smoke!

Alec Bradley Maxx Curve (7 x 58) Rated 91 1/2 by C.A. Magazine, the MAXX is an extraordinary mature cigar. Coated with a dark Nicaraguan tobacco, it is blended to include tobaccos from 4 Latin American nations: Colombia, Nicaragua, Honduras and Mexico.
