Shhhh, let me tell you a little dirty secret straight from the corner of our water cooler. Mike loves the sampler department so much that he's capable of doing anything to sell more samplers to make sure nobody else could beat their performance. Sometimes we feel like this sampler business became like his pet project. Mike is willing to divert all promotion resources just so he could subsidize more samplers. That does not sit very well with a lot of good people who are working hard to sell you real cigar boxes and they're planning their revenge. Until then, all they can do is just sit around and watch how this amazing Pet Project Sampler goes flying.

It starts with a great Rocky Patel Sungrown Fuerte Torpedo (6 1/2 x 52). It is a powerful smoke, but gentle, with delicate notes of spicy nugget. This cigar is complex and superb, expensive and hard to find.

The second cigar is Romeo y Julieta Habana Reserve Belicoso (6 1/8 x 52). No doubt, it is an awesome cigar with a medium body but, oh, so flavorful with rich notes of spicy glazed toasted cashew with hints of honey nuts.

The Siglo Limited Reserve X Torpedo (6 x 54), his cigar, characterized by it's extraordinary boldness, complexity and a rich, fuller body. As you smoke along, the balance between the diffrent cigar elements developes. The spiceyness evens out and the sweetness takes over. There is a relaxed nature to this cigar and it has a “modern” feel with its dueling flavor elements. Siglo Limited Reserve's bold flavor is derived from the finest Broadleaf binder and hand-selected Dominican and Nicaraguan long filler tobaccos, highlighted by a robust Ecuadorian Cubano wrapper.

Fourth is the Bauza Pyramid (5 1/2 x 50). This fantastic cigar is being made by the Fuente family, at their #2 factory for over twenty years! Bauza is among the few non-Cuban brands that received 92 or over rating by the Cigar Aficionado Magazine. Wrapped in a beautiful Ecuador Sumatra Sun-grown leaf with Dominican binder and filler it provides a spicy yet soothing aroma with creamy delicate flavors of coffee and nutmeg.
