Last Day of Summer Sampler

Labor Day marks the official end of the summer season but the day the kids go back to school, signals for us that vacation time is over, life is going back to its ‘normal’ routine and, yes, rush hour traffic is back to bumper-to-bumper in the early morning time when we all try to make it on time to work. It is a bitter sweet feeling; on the one hand we’re happy to go back to our old rituals, but on the other we already miss our summer adventures and the extra time we got to spend with the children. Mike selected this special bitter sweet cigar collection to cheer us up in case we need an extra boost during these days.

Start with the one cigar Mike just loves – the Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real No. 2 ( 6 1/8 x 52). It was the first cigar I fell in love with and like all first loves the Reserve Real will stay with me forever. Gentle and powerful belicoso caresses your palate with silky flavors of perfectly roasted coffee beans, rich and savory it is the Dom Perignon of the cigar domain.

The second entry is Rocky Patel Vintage ’92 Torpedo (6¼ x 52) a super-aged powerhouse, maturing in cedar vaults to bring a great marriage between its unique wrapper and awesome blend to a full blown, high octane explosion of magical flavors. With notes of rye roast and honey butter it is an absolutely delicious cigar that lasts forever.

Third cigar is the H. Upmann Super Fuerte Belicoso (6 1/8 x 54). This powerful classic sporting Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper with Nicaraguan/Dominican/Peruvian exotic blend and Sumatra binder captures exotic flavors and unique quality, providing a rare smoking experience for the real cigar lovers.

Rocky Patel Sungrown Fuerte (6½ x 52) is one more blockbuster in this great collection. This perfect box press is a real beauty, well balanced and oozing flavors of cedar bark and nutmeg with long and smooth finish.

The grand finale belongs to the 8-9-8 Collection Belicoso (6¼ x 52). Creamy and nutty the Big 8 is a slow smoke with mighty notes of French vanilla chocolate and honey nut, with a lot of bitter sweetness to end this summer.
