Today is the day we see the Groundhog emerge, briefly, from its burrow, look for its shadow and retreat back into its burrow to continue with its wintery nap. The elders, within Mike’s Cigars staff, say they do not remember such a cold winter for many years; Mike thinks it must be the global warming. Whatever it is, a good collection of great cigars does not really need a special occasion.
Our first cigar is the La Gloria Cubana Serie R no. 7. This is the biggest La Gloria Cubana Serie R cigar (7 x 58). This massive smoke combines the famed Serie R blend with a rich and oily Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper to produce rich aromas of chocolate and sweet spice in a long smoke.
Number 2 is Saint Luis Rey Churchill (7 x 52) This cigar has full flavor and aroma through a unique blend of Honduran, Nicaraguan, and Peruvian long filler tobaccos, a Nicaraguan binder and a dark, rich Nicaraguan or San Andrés Morrón wrapper. It is a bold and full flavored smoke with rich aroma of Cuban coffee, with creamy, smooth nutty, notes

3rd cigar is Partagas No. 10 (7 x 49), which is a medium-to-full in body and featuring a Cameroon wrapper, it greets you with a rich, deep caramelized taste with bright highlights that earns your admiration right away. There’s a toasty aroma which has a hint of spice and the cigar has a medium finish that is fluid and easy.
We continue with CAO Italia Positano (6 x 50) This full body, powerful and very dark cigar boasting Italian grown tobacco from the Benevenuto valley in the south of Italy. The unique idea to combine Nicaraguan with continental filler is another CAO renovation. The final product, with Honduran binder/wrapper is an excellent and one of the most intriguing cigars online.
