It is freezing cold in Miami with a chance of an Iguana rain right on top of you if you don’t look up. Record low temps have caused the Kamikaze iguanas to plummet from their treetop perches. They are falling on our palm tree lined streets, driveways and on top of cars. Scientists say these this seemingly suicidal phenomenon is occurring as a result of the extremely cold weather. Iguanas prefer temperatures in the 80s and 90s. With temperatures at around 35 degrees, a handful of lifeless lizards hang from branches and fall to the ground. They appear to be dead but they are not. A man was recently collecting them off the street and throwing them in the back of his station wagon, when all of a sudden, while he was driving, these things came alive, crawling on his back and almost caused a wreck.
