The 2011 Hurricane Season started yesterday and our local TV stations already tracking some tropical activity in the Gulf. I tell you, if there’s no earthquake, Tsunami, or just plain old Tornado, rivers overflowing with floods… It seems like all these disasters keep coming. The one thing we still don’t have in Miami is a snow avalanche.
We celebrated the beginning of the new hurricane season with some good cigars, and here’s what we smoked:
Cuban Bullet 2.0 Churchill (7 x 50). The Cuban Bullet 2.0 is a long filler cigar, full of flavor high quality cigar. Made in Esteli, Nicaragua by Nick Perdomo, this is a solid smoke with hot, peppery flavors and a sweet finish.
Caribbean Rounds Churchill (7 x 49) The Caribbean Rounds brand was made to give maximum bang for just a few bucks. With a touch of cedar, the creamy, well aged tobacco smokes smoothly and nicely. This Nicaraguan puro is handmade with a short filler blend of 100% Cuban-seed tobaccos, a spicy binder and an attractive medium-brown EMS wrapper and the hearty flavors are sure to satisfy the seasoned smoker.
Cubita Manuel’s Choice (7 x 50) The word “Cubita” means “little Cuba” and if you could take in the spirit of Cuba in one whiff of a good smoke, the Cubita cigar is the one to mooch on. The combination of this aged flavorful blend of Habano long filler tobaccos from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic, a smooth, seasoned binder, and an attractive medium brown Ecuador Habano wrapper creates a well-balanced and rich smoke.
Franco Magnums (7 1/2 x 50) Mike’s Cigars offers a medium bodied cigar, with excellent construction and creamy leathery flavors the cigars are packed in elegant boxes of 25 cigars. The easy smoke Connecticut wrapper is accented with spicy Dominican blend filler and binder. Exquisite.
El Cauto Rojo Double Corona (7 1/2 x 50) The El Cauto has been a solid brand since the roaring days of the cigar boom. The plastic bundle was upgraded to a flip-top carton, containing 25 cigars in individual extra thick protective cello, inside which you’ll find a handsome smoke banded with the red El Cauto ring, standing for the reddish original color or the brand from days gone.
