The NBA Season starts next week and we are all waiting for the playoffs between the Miami Heat and LA Lakers. One way or another the excitement is about to begin and if you would like to have any good cigar when you watch opening tip off, now is the time to get this Sampler.
First cigar of the season is Macanudo Robust Hyde Park (5 1/2 x 49), The Macanudo is constructed with only the darkest Connecticut Shade wrapper grown on Macanudo-owned Connecticut River Valley farms, the Macanudo Robust is a more flavorful cigar than the straight Mac. Daniel Nunez, former President of General Cigar combined the sweetness of a Connecticut Broadleaf binder with a fuller-flavored blend of Dominican, Honduran and Nicaraguan tobaccos, resulting in a passionate smoke, square pressed and delicious!
Second pick is H. Upmann Vintage Cameroon Robusto (5 x 50), full of the rich nutty core flavors.
Cohiba Robusto Fino (4 3/4 x 47) will be the third cigar in this mix. The dark, rich wrapper leaf is grown in the sub-tropical West African climate of Cameroon. The supple and flavorful Jember binder is grown in Indonesia. To balance the richness of the wrapper, the smooth-smoking Piloto Cubano filler leaves are grown in the Dominican Republic. The result is rich and flavorful with creamy notes of smoked nuts in butterscotch.
Fourth quarter gives you the Siglo Limited Reserve No. IV (5 x 54), which falls right into place in this top-of-the-line selection. Full body, bold and rich with creamy spicy notes of Kahlua and Cream this Super-Premium cigar is one of the best we smoked lately. The Siglo is the new crown jewel of Altadis drawing its superb quality from the same sources responsible for the creation of Romeo and Montecristo.
The fifth and final cigar is Saint Luis Rey Series G Robusto (5 x 56). This cigar is seriously hard to get, over-the-top Maduro with a spicy start and a long, smooth finish. It is solid and very flavorful to the core with notes of cedar and almond brittle.
