The 34th America's Cup was launched a couple of weeks ago. The America's Cup is the world’s oldest trophy in international sport with the first race going back to 1851. The BMW-Oracle team – winner of the 33rd cup is busy defending its title against the competition. The beauty of the majestic sailboats against the shiny backdrop of the ocean blue is captivating, and there's nothing like being able to watch them sail in the afternoon breeze with a nice stogie to mooch on as you follow a race in progress.

The first cigar in the America's Cup Sampler is AVO No. 2 (6x50). The Davidoff Company is distributing AVO cigars since 1995 and this fact by itself is the ultimate testimony to the quality and attention each cigar in every box receives. The cigars are delicious, full of taste but gentle and creamy in your palate from the special blend of the choicest Dominican filler and binder, to the rich and succulent Connecticut wrapper leaves, each Avo cigar is a work of art.

Next cigar is La Gloria Cubana Serie R No. 6 (5 7/8x60) Packed in dark mahogany wrapper, Serie R cigars deliver their extra-bold bouquet as soon as the box is opened. Their full-bodied flavor comes from a special blend of long Dominican and Nicaraguan filler, superb Nicaraguan binder and a wonderfully aged and extra flavorful Ecuadoran wrapper. The result is a rich, full-flavored smoke unmatched by any other cigar.

Alec Bradley Prensado Churchill (7x48) was built around a new wrapper, the Corojo dos mil, seis (Corojo 2006). The wrapper was grown in late 2006 on the farm in Trojes Honduras and was in fermentation and aging through mid 2008. The Corojo 2006 possesses an abundance of strength and natural sweetness as well as adding a tremendous amount of complexity to the blend. In addition, the cigar has a beautiful reddish brown "cubanesque" look and feel. Prensado is Alec Bradley's first traditional pressed line of cigars and the most full bodied blend to date.

We continue with Siglo No. 6 (6x54). This cigar, characterized by it's extraordinary boldness, complexity and a rich, fuller body. As you smoke along, the balance between the different cigar elements develops. The spiciness evens out and the sweetness takes over. There is a relaxed nature to this cigar and it has a "modern" feel with its dueling flavor elements. Siglo Limited Reserve's bold flavor is derived from the finest Broadleaf binder and hand-selected Dominican and Nicaraguan long filler tobaccos, highlighted by a robust Ecuadorian Cubano wrapper.

Last but not least is Excalibur No. 2 (6¾x47) Excalibur No. 2 (6¾x47), is deep brown, full body cigar. But it is smooth at the same time, combining power and balance, out of the ordinary way. Its oily wrapper and Honduran blend make it a very sophisticated and unforgettable smoke!
