CLE Cuarenta received an epic 90-rating from Cigar Aficionado magazine in the December 2013 issue!
Christian Eiroa is back with a bang! After selling his CAMACHO CIGARS to Davidoff of Geneva some of us mistakenly thought that Eiroa will take a break from business for awhile to fly around the world in his business jet (he flies left seat) but Eiroa is a cigar man in his blood and soul and with the blessing, if not with actual participation of Davidoff, he is making his “comeback” in less than two years since his departure.
Eiroa is making a grand return with the CLE Cigar Company which launched during the Annual Cigar Show in August several new and exciting cigar brands. CLE is short for Eiroa’s full name (Christian Luis Eiroa) and the new cigars are the ultimate creation of Eiroa’s passion. The new CLE cigar is being made in two Varieties: CLE 2012 Cuarenta (in brown cabinets) and CLE 2012 Corojo (in black cabinets) – both boxes (25 count) sport an elegant design with original color pattern featuring red bottom with the CLE monogram. CLE is a limited edition line with small production using Habano Seed wrapper for the Cuarenta line (meaning “40” to celebrate Eiroa’s 40th birthday) and Corojo wrapper for its namesake line. The blend is medium-to-full-body. The CLE small batch character dictated that future harvests will be vintage dated, or, as Eiroa puts it: “Tobacco changes every year, just like wine changes every year. I’m going to use the same varieties, but the cigars could vary, because it’s a different batch”. Eiroa states that the dates will not be the harvest date but, rather, the date of production of every future edition.
