Cigar Aficionado said, "...The idea behind Symmetry is balance. Specifically balance between blending Nicaraguan and Dominican tobaccos, which could easily clash if not done skillfully, though blending can be as much, if not more, of an art as it is a science. Both creativity and textbook precision integrate quite elegantly here, as notes of nougat, toast, chicory and nuts blossom on the palate and stay interesting down to the robusto’s last puff."
The Ashton Symmetry has been a project that has been in the making for four years now and it is the first new release from Ashton in almost ten years. The Ashton Symmetry was blended by Carlos "Carlito" Fuente Jr. and made at Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia in the Dominican Republic and Fuente's Un Bien Vecino located in Esteli, Nicaragua.
This is a medium to full bodied smoke with a fantastic Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, Dominican binder, and Dominican and Nicaraguan long-fillers. The Ashton Symmetry is the first Ashton-branded cigar to have Nicaraguan tobacco as well. This magnificent cigar releases aromas of caramel, sweet notes, hints of pepper and creaminess. Part of the reason the Ashton Symmetry had been delayed for so long is due to the fact that one of the Fuente's tobacco warehouse was on fire in 2011 but that didn't stop Ashton and Fuente from finally releasing another exceptional cigar collaboration along with the Ashton Classic, Cabinet Selection, Aged Maduro and VSG.
Handcrafted in the Domincian Republic, Ashton Symmetry is a small-batch, proprietary creation blended by legendary cigar-maker, Carlito Fuente. Proudly expressing many years of experience and adherence to the foremost disciplines in growing and aging tobacco, Ashton Symmetry reveals a beautifully proportioned merger of Dominican tobaccos from Chateau de la Fuente and Villa Gonzalez, as well as some rare tobaccos from Esteli, Nicaragua. The genesis of regional influences is certain to establish Ashton Symmetry as the new precedent for complexity in the market.
Silky Ecuador Habano wrappers unveil an unrivaled harmony of power and finesse. Classic Fuente spice and oak notes flourish early on and praise an irresistible warm, emergent cream. Leather and lush figs chaperone the sense on an elaborate, medium to full-bodied tour. The strength is smooth and pronounced in an enticing, civil fashion, while soft aromas of coffee and cedar coalesce into a superbly balanced finish.
