Macanudo Gold Label cigars were originally released by General Cigar Company in 2002. The Macanudo Gold Label cigar features a unique “capa especial” wrapper harvested from only the choicest US Connecticut Shade plants. These golden wrapper leaves are taken from the first or second priming of the plant, yielding a supremely mild, silky smoke with natural sweetness and great aromas. When these amazing wrapper leaves are combined with Macanudo’s amazing Mexican binder and Dominican/Mexican long filler blend, the result is nothing short of remarkable. Macanudo cigars are recognized as the best selling cigar brand in America. Originated in Jamaica in 1868, Macanudos were introduced to the US market by General Cigar in 1971, widely known for its mild flavor and body. Due to unfavorable conditions in Jamaica, such as the weather, Macanudo cigars are now produced in the Dominican Republic.
All Macanudo cigars are made with the finest Connecticut shade wrappers, mild yet flavorful twice-aged Dominican fillers, and binders grown in the San Andres Valley of Mexico.
